Results – Sprint Tri, Parkrun

Stephen Hobday took the silver podium place in the Grantham Sprint Tri last weekend. His hard work competing for GAC over the cross country season put him good shape for the 5k run which he completed in 20:11. Being a member of the Witham Wheelers paid dividends for the 16k cycle leg which he completed in 26:43 and his superb 400m swim in 6:15 was the 2nd fastest of the day out of the 167 competitors.

It was Naomi Collier’s first venture into the world of Triathlon and her fine 19:56 run helped her secure a 4th overall ladies place and first prize in her age group. A bit of work on her 8:49 swim, 32:32 cycle and some fine tuning on her transitions and she could soon be on the podium.

We had eight athletes competing at three Parkruns on Saturday. Under 10 Johnathan Page made his Parkrun debut at Belton with an impressive21:30 run. Janice Davidson returned to Rutland Water to take 5 seconds off her previous weeks time with a National Class 84.5% age graded performance.

Rutland Water – 12 Paul DAVIDSON 20:28, 35 Janice DAVIDSON 23:18.

On top of this, we also had the Northern League match on Sunday. We came fourth with some incredibly strong performances. Our main issue was not being able to fill many events. Report to follow.
