Welcome Back

Dear Athletes and families,

England Athletics has confirmed that in line with the Government’s plans, if the outside venue is open club coaching and training can resume from 29th March. Currently the stadium is closed, once it opens on March 29th club volunteers will prepare the stadium for track and field athletics. So as long as the virus continues on its downward path, we restart training on Wednesday April 7th!

Membership

As with last year, training will be linked to club membership so this will need to be completed before training restarts in April.
Current membership ends on 31st March, so all current members need to renew, and a blank renewal membership form is attached with this email. Please complete one for each person, payment details are on the form. Payment by BACS or cheques please as we are trying to avoid cash transactions for health (and safety) reasons. The address to send your applications to is on the bottom of the form and as before please ensure your BACS payment references the name the payment is to be credited to. No application forms can be accepted without payment – sorry, but it confuses me too much!
Life members who are not planning on competing – if none of your details have changed since last year you do not need to fill in a membership form, but please just drop me an email to confirm you are happy for me to register you. However, if you wish to participate in any EA licenced competitions or races you will need to submit the payment (£15) with a membership form.
We can only accept membership applications from athletes aged 9 years and older, so any youngster attending the 6 – 7pm training session who is younger than this can train without membership.

Training

As with last year we will offer training on a prebooking system. Those who are in credit from when we trained last should have been notified with the adjusted amount they need to pay. Otherwise please pay for the forthcoming month – £12 per athlete – thank you.
2021 promises to be a year to make up for lost competition and training opportunities, we have dates for our U13/U15 competitions (5th June; 17th July and 4th September). We also have dates for the Northern competitions – for the U17’s and older (22nd May; 19th June, 11 July and 1st August).
As a club we take part in these and need you, the athletes and families, to help support us – please, do all that you can to take part.
Thank you for being part of our athletic club, we look forward to watching you train, improve and compete on home turf and across the region.

Welcome back!
