We have the very sad task of informing club members that Ian Newell, father of Kim and Amy, was tragically killed in a car accident on the A1 last Thursday. This was a terrible shock to all who knew him and we want to let all members know.

Ian was a familiar face at Grantham Athletic Club following his daughters in their athletics. The club was devastated to hear of the death of a great supporter of the club who would come to all matches. He would volunteer to help whether it be measuring the shot put or providing the follow-up vehicle at last week’s Newton’s Fraction. Our deepest condolences go to Kathryn, Kim and Amy.
