Grantham Athletic Club was formed in 1974. Training took place in various locations around town, before we took up residence in the South Kesteven Sports Stadium.

Our membership stands at almost 200, mostly the younger age groups. We compete in several leagues, summer and winter and offer comprehensive coaching and training facilities in Track and Field, Cross Country and Road Running.

Grantham Athletic Club is affiliated with England Athletics and the club conforms with national and regional polices and procedures, which includes all UK Athletics policies and codes of conducts: England Athletics Org

Athletics is about running, jumping and throwing as fast, as high and as far as you can. England Athletics aims to create an environment where everyone involved in athletics feels safe and secure to enable them to achieve their potential – to run, jump and throw, to coach, officiate or to support those who do. Grantham Athletic Club is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience that enables young people and adults to participate in recreational or competitive athletics and ensures best practice throughout the club and its activities.

Club Facilities

The South Kesteven Sports Stadium, purpose-built in 1992, features two covered stands surrounding a standard 8-lane all-weather track that encloses a pitch used by Grantham Town FC plus most of the Field events. Over the years, the stadium has hosted high-level competition and is frequently used for school and county competitions. The stadium is situated on Trent Road, adjacent to the Meres Leisure Centre.

Between the track and the far-side stand are the long-jump and triple-jump areas. The whole stadium can be floodlit.

Facilities including toilets, changing rooms and showers, a medical room, an Athletic Club office are located in the main stand. Additional toilets are available under the far-side stand.
